EXAM AND QUIZ ADVICE.

  • Each exam will only cover chapters and sections we covered in class.  Enter your name and SSN on each exam in order to obtain credit.  The test score cannot be recorded if your identification is missing.
  • For reasons of test security, any student arriving late for an exam will not be seated if another student has finished and left the room with a copy of the test.
  • Enter your name, SSN, section number, quiz number, and date on anything submitted for a grade in order to obtain credit  Discrepancies in test grades must be resolved within one week of posting on the web site.
  • Nu / E Reaction Guide and EAS Tool .  See a magazine article about the learning devices used in this class. Read the research results below the article, which state the effect of the devices on student test performance; it will help you decide whether you want to use the devices.
A Description of the Research Documenting the Improvement in Test Question Performance as a Result of using the Nu/E guide .

OLD TESTS:  Each time old exams have been placed in the test files, they have been lost within a couple of days.  At students' request, FLASH CARDS which contain tests from two semesters of each organic chemistry course have been developed.  All three flashcard sets -- ORG1, ORG2 and Spectroscopy -- will be useful for both chemistry courses, CHEM 3053 and CHEM 3153.  FLASH CARD DESCRAMBLING   instructions.

ANIMATIONS . For good animations for organic chemistry, see this link..

RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES.   Chemistry and chemical engineering majors can get started on capstone courses.  Majors in other disciplines should seek advice from the departments in which they shall obtain their degrees.
