Advising and Enrollment

Advising Appointments

Advising appointments may be made approximately two weeks prior to each semester's enrollment. Chemistry and Biochemistry majors should receive a reminder message via e-mail. Appointments can be scheduled by signing up outside of the advising office on the sign-up sheets.

Students majoring in Chemistry or Biochemistry must be advised each semester before they can enroll.

Students who are in University College must be advised by a University College advisor.

When students come to the advising appointment they should have a trial schedule created in their online enrollment shopping cart, or a least an idea of the courses they want and need to take. Students must also familiarize themselves with their specific degree requirements. Degree sheets are available at the following locations:
  • College of Arts and Sciences Advising Office, Ellison Hall rm 124
  • University College, Carnegie Building Room 100
  • Chemistry and Biochemistry Main Office, Chemistry Building Room 208
  • Chemistry Advising Office, Chemistry Building Annex Room 214

The degree sheets are also available for download in Adobe PDF format.

Self-Advising Form

We have created a two-page form to help majors easily understand what courses they have remaining to complete their degree program. This form does not list all the requirements for University of Oklahoma students and does not replace the information available in the degree requirement sheets. The first page lists the main requirements for each program in a check-list format, and the second page lists all the undergraduate chemistry/biochemistry courses, when they are offered, and their prerequisites.

Enrollment

Chemistry and Biochemistry majors in the College of Arts and Sciences must be advised in the Chemistry and Biochemistry department prior to enrollment. At the advisement meeting they will review their trial schedules with their advisor. After a schedule is decided upon, the students will be authorized to enroll via online enrollment. The online enrollment page is http://enroll.ou.edu.
Students are not enrolled during their advising appointment. They must enroll after being advised.

Please refer to the online enrollment site for complete registration instructions.
