Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education policy requires that students who entered the Oklahoma state system of higher education for the first time as a freshman beginning in the fall 1998 semester must demonstrate computer proficiency for graduation with a bachelors degree. These skills include word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web use.

The Computer Literacy Assessment Test is given at:

Room 200, Carnegie Building
Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Note the following exception:
During Summer Enrollment Programs
(mid-May through July), walk-in testing is available
1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Students should plan on having 1.5 hours for the test.

All students should bring their OU Student ID Card to the test.Students taking the test for the first time need to purchase a SAM 2000 Tutorial Booklet from the University Bookstore at Hester Hall. This booklet is required during the first attempt of the Computer Literacy Assessment. The booklet contains a one-time use KeyCode which allows students to set up an account on the test system. Once an account is set up, the student can attempt the test as many times as necessary to pass.
