Computer Literacy Requirement Information
Oklahoma State Regents for Higher
Education policy requires that students who entered
the Oklahoma state system of higher education for the
first time as a freshman beginning in the fall 1998
semester must demonstrate computer proficiency for graduation
with a bachelors degree. These skills include word processing,
spreadsheet, email, and web use.
The Computer Literacy Assessment
Test is given at:
Assessment and Learning Center

Room 200, Carnegie Building
Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Note the following exception:
During Summer Enrollment Programs
(mid-May through July), walk-in testing is available
1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Students should plan on having 1.5 hours for the test.
All students should bring their OU Student ID Card to
the test.Students taking the test for the first time need
to purchase a SAM 2000 Tutorial Booklet from the University
Bookstore at Hester Hall. This booklet is required during
the first attempt of the Computer Literacy Assessment.
The booklet contains a one-time use KeyCode which allows
students to set up an account on the test system. Once
an account is set up, the student can attempt the test
as many times as necessary to pass.
